Feature Length Documentary Film

Meet Queens and Drag Royalty entertaining folk in VFWs and historic meeting halls in rural New England. From the "big cities" of Keene, Brattleboro, and Manchester, to this nation's earliest settlements, drag can be found in unexpected abundance.

Who is the audience? How does Drag emerge outside of major metropolitan areas? How does this Royalty find a way to slay? Following Vermont career queens, to RuPaul Drag Race and Dragula contenders, to brand new small town royalty heading to NYC for the first time, our cast of characters has a lot to share.

In a time where the legality of drag is threatened in 17 states, their voices are more important than ever. Their stories are the lifeblood of Break a Lash. Between the newly formed Haus of Soulless to the 30+ years running Ladies of the Rainbow, you might be surprised by what you find tucked back in the hills of Vermont and New Hampshire.
